you might try searching CrazyGuyOnABike and blogspot blogs for east coast / southeastern groups / clubs that regularly go to RAGBRAI.

although I suspect that most of the above might require a "membership". And frankly, some of them are more insane than I could handle.

Heck, 10 thousand riders that take 6 hours to pass a given point is more insane than I think I could handle.

you might also try bikeforums.net - only because it has a larger / wider user base

psst, Charlie, wouldn't this fit better under "rides/meet-ups"?

I'm going out there and was planning on flying as I didn't want to put the effort into the drive. The thought of that drive before and after that long of a bike ride.....sigh....I don't know I still may fly but would entertain the idea of driving if there's a spot open. PM me if you want to discuss further.

Things have changed significantly since I put up that post. I'm not going this year. Maybe next time. Crap!

Are you able to donate your position to another? I know of someone who has mentioned this ride.

Everyone has "mentioned" this ride some time or other. Try the RAGBRAI web site for info/policy on trading reservations, etc..

1. I guess you aren't everyone.
2. If someone gives you a fish, you can eat for day; if you learn to fish, you can eat forever.
3. Doesn't your above post count as a "mention"?
