CBC @ The CNC Spring Ride

Some of you may have received the flyer in the mail - Greg has foolishly decided to provide more beer to cyclists by having CBC be a sponsor for the Cycle North Carolina Spring Ride (yay Greg!)

"CBC Cycle Zone
All registered CNC participants are invited to the 2010 CNC Spring Ride daily social hour to gather with friends, recount the days ride, catch up on great friendships, and enjoy cold beverages provided by Carolina Brewing Company"

Great chance for more CBC and Team CBC visibility - and a way to sign up more folks for the MS-150!

Does the ride accept entries yet? If so, can you post the website please?

Bob

I was planning on going already. But now with CBC beer as part of the deal, nothing will keep me away from Edenton.

Yep, camping is the plan. Looks like all the hotel rooms in Edenton are booked already. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. It was great last time.

Cool

I am interested in this ride and have a couple of questions that I did not find any information about at the website.

I want to camp - is there electricity available at the campsite?

Is the camp site a base camp of ro does it move to a different location for the second night?

Thanks

Ashby,

I'm no expert on the spring CNC, last year was my first time. But I definitely felt under informed by the info they offer. They do give some good info, but not very specific in many cases.

The campsite does not move. You stay in Edenton (the host city this year). All the rides are loops out and back to Edenton. They offer lots of routes from short to long. You ride as much as you want. Start and stop when you want. They have a good number of rest stops on all the routes, but they are only 'maned' during the day (something like 8 to 5 pm).

Last year the camping was very convenient to everything. Lots of johns, pretty good shower facility (shower trucks, generally with a waiting line). I didn't need or see any electrical supply for campers though. If you want camper hook up type camping I'd look for other established camp grounds. I'm pretty sure you could find some in that general area. But all accommodations like hotels and such get snapped up very quickly. I'll bet most hotel rooms are long gone with 10 or 20 miles of town.

I'm surprised there ARE any hotel rooms in Edenton. If I remember my down east geography, it's a little pipsqueak of a town.. and I can say that 'cause I'm from down east.
