There are some nice locally owned coffee shops downtown New Bern. I don't know how close tent city will be... but if it's relatively close, it would be a nice morning walk.

There is also a little quickstop/grocery that has gourmet coffee in grounds, beans, and some freshly made. It is near the B&B just down the street from the park.
