Cool I broke Turtle!

I am so annoyed - Sunday evening after a wonderful ride and dinner with Peggy and Bryan while I was riding home at an intersection on a pretty good incline I press down on the pedal and bent the front chainring on my Shlump High Speed drive. It is a 34 tooth steel chain ring and I bent it and it then came off the drive. I really thought I would break the chain before the chain ring. I am really worried about how long I may be off the trike - my should be able to remove it and put in the original bottom bracket and derailleur with the original triple chain ring.
Well I will call the supplier, who is in Utah, as soon as they are open and see what the time a cost damage will be.
Poor Turtle.

Oh no!!! Poor Turtle, I hope she's not out of commission too long. I remember you weren't too fond of the original crankset. How did you get home?

Steel chainrings can often be repaired. I bent the middle chainring on my hybrid, and Matt was able to repair it. I am still using it with no problems.

Bent chain ring? No problem. Find vise, bend back. Take a large hammer and finish the job using a piece of wood, like a small piece of 2X4, as an insulator between the chainring and the hammer and finish flatening the ring.
What concerns me is it came off the drive. If you lost a bolt or two maybe you're OK. Other wise it sounds like a torn ear tab. If that happened, it can not be repaired.
